Cheddar Sour Cream Seasoned Pretzels are just regular pretzels seasoned with a mixture of cheddar and sour cream flavors! It’s our favorite way to level up a bag of common pretzels.

Pretzels tend to be rather bland by themselves.
But add a little bit of seasoning and they can be turned into a delicious savory snack!
The classic combo – cheddar and sour cream – is our favorite way to season pretzels and it’s really a very simple recipe for a quick and easy snack. Also, try our Ranch Seasoned Pretzels!
In this busy season, it’s hard to find time to do all the things we’d like to do. Making homemade snacks is not a top priority. It’s very nice and handy to have homemade snacks around though, and that is one reason to love this recipe.
Four ingredients and a little pocket of time is all it takes to create a large bowl of seasoned pretzels!

These are delicious just by themselves, but they can also be eaten with cheese blocks or slices or chip dip.
Seasoned pretzels also make a great snack for birthday parties or last minute gatherings or get-togethers, game night, after school snack, etc.
And another great thing, this recipe is budget friendly!
So, if you’re looking for the perfect snack recipe to add to your snack rotation, this is the perfect choice for you.

Ingredients
Pretzels – we used a bag of regular mini twists.
Oil – avocado, canola, or vegetable oil. I like avocado oil!
Cheddar cheese powder – adds the perfect cheddar flavor.
Sour cream and onion powder – paired with the cheddar cheese powder is delightful.
Supplies
- Mixing bowl – a large bowl with a tight fitting lid.
Measuring cups and spoons – measure the right amount of ingredients, of course. (Though seriously, it’s ok to wing it and follow your heart when it comes to adding seasoning!)
How to make Cheddar Sour Cream Seasoned Pretzels
Dump the bag of pretzels in a large bowl (with a tight fitting lid).

Pour the cup of oil over the pretzels, place the lid securely on the bowl and shake the bowl to coat all the pretzels with oil.
Remove the lid and add the cheddar cheese powder and sour cream & onion powder. Put the lid back on and shake well again to coat the pretzels with seasoning.

Shake the container of seasoned pretzels about every 15 minutes for the next hour or so. (You can also use a spatula to scrape off anything stuck to the sides of the bowl before shaking!)
Enjoy.🧡

Notes
We used mini twist pretzels, but really, any small pretzels work great.
Vegetable oil or corn oil will work in place of canola oil; olive oil is not our favorite.
Cheddar and sour cream & onion seasoning is our favorite combo, but hey, you can totally use your imagination. There are more options at the grocery store like ranch seasoning, for instance.
How do you store Cheddar Sour Cream Seasoned Pretzels?
Store the pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
We store them in the same tight container we used for mixing; though any container will work as long as it’s airtight. Resealable bags, like Ziploc bags work well too.
