Three Simple Ingredients (Plus Tortilla Chips, for Dipping!)

- Cream Cheese – I go for the full-fat cream cheese, as it makes for the most creamy dip! And no, it really doesn’t need to be at room temperature before starting, (though that does make the process go even faster!).
- Salsa – most times I use homemade, home canned chunky salsa (today I’m using two 8-ounce jars) but store bought stuff is just fine too.
- Beans – regular black beans from a can.
- Tortilla chips – for serving! Really any chips can work, but tortilla chips are our favorite.

Supplies we used:
- Pan – a skillet, somewhere in the 8 or 10-inch range.
- Can opener – unless your bean can has that handy little handle on it, you’ll need a can opener!
- Strainer – pour those beans into a strainer or colander so you can easily drain and rinse away those juices.
- Something to stir with – a wooden spoon is what I’m using today.

How to Make Creamy Salsa Bean Dip
Place the cream cheese, salsa, and drained and rinsed beans into a skillet on medium-low heat on the stovetop.

Stir frequently until the cream cheese is melted and the mixture turns into a smooth and creamy chip dip.

Serve hot with tortilla chips. Enjoy!

How to Store Leftover Creamy Salsa Bean Dip
Store any leftover bean dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
When it comes to re-heating leftover dip, you can put the dip back in the pan and heat it on the stovetop or stick it in the microwave and heat, stirring frequently until the dip is hot and ready!
Tips, Tricks & Notes
You can control how spicy hot the dip is by using mild or hot salsa. (I prefer mild!) If the dip turned out hotter than expected, add a dollop of sour cream, plain Greek yogurt or extra cream cheese to mellow the heat a little.
If your salsa is pretty watery, it’ll end up making your dip runny. You can always drain off some of the water from the salsa before adding it to the dip to help avoid that!
Don’t care for certain food textures? Stick the salsa and beans in the food processor or blender before heating and mixing with cream cheese.
Creamy Salsa Bean Dip Recipe Variations
This is definitely one of those super customizable recipes that you really can’t mess up! Use the original easy recipe as a guide and add any extras that your family will love such as:
- Corn. Sweet corn kernels add color and a subtle sweetness.
- Ground beef. “Beef” it up by adding ground meat of some kind. This is a great idea if you’re making this for the main dish for dinner!
- Lime juice. Add a little zing of extra flavor to the dip with a splash of lime juice.
- Fresh cilantro. Mmm, yes. If your salsa doesn’t already contain cilantro, that’s a great addition!
- Seasonings. I’m thinking garlic powder, onion powder, ground cumin, taco seasoning, anything along those lines.
- Shredded cheddar cheese
Ok, I’ll stop there.😅 The list could go on and on though, so if you make this, let me know what fun things you added to make it perfect for you!

Dipper Ideas
For me, it’s got to be tortilla chips. But hey, there’s more things you can use for dippers in a dip like this one!
- Any of your favorite crackers
- Warm pita bread
- Fresh veggies – carrot sticks, cucumber slices, bell pepper strips, etc.
- Crusty bread, like baguette slices
