Smooth and Creamy Cheddar Sour Cream Dip for Veggies or Crackers
A great way to eat more veggies, at least for myself, is to serve and eat them with a yummy dip such as Homemade Savory Ranch Dip, Easy Creamy Ranch Dip, or this Cheddar Sour Cream veggie dip.
This recipe also makes a great appetizer, last minute treat for guests, snack for a special occasion or holiday gatherings even, or just for the anyhow! You can whip it up in a matter of minutes and serve it with whatever you have on hand, whether it be crackers, chips or carrot sticks.
Cheddar Sour Cream veggie dip is completely smooth, which is one of my favorite things about it! (Textured veggie dips containing actual shredded cheese and things are ok but they’re not my favorite with veggies!)
Homemade veggie dip is the best! And this is a go-to recipe of mine when I’m wanting to make an easy vegetable dip to serve with raw vegetables. It’s a crowd pleaser, for sure!

Supplies we used
- Mixing bowl
- Electric handheld mixer – this thing makes whipping up a batch of ranch dip a breeze! Wouldn’t want to be without it, though you could mix it up by hand or eve with a stand mixer.
- Spatula or two
- Measuring cups and spoons
Four Simple Ingredients
Cream cheese & sour cream make up the base of this creamy dip. I will say, cream cheese whips smooth a lot nicer when it’s at room temperature (or close to it) so it’s a good idea to get it out for awhile before making this dip!
Cheddar cheese powder – we buy this stuff at our local bulk food store but conveniently enough, you can also get it on Amazon!
Sour cream & onion powder – again, we buy this at the local grocery store, but it’s also available on Amazon, which is handy.
