Flavorful Sweet Heat Cheeseball Recipe
I'm back, with another cheese ball recipe! And this one is fun - made with sweet spicy pepper jelly!
The cream cheese balances out the sweet and spicy flavors perfectly. When we were taste testing this recipe, my husband said, "There's only one problem. I might eat the whole thing!" So consider yourself warned, it's very "more-ish".😅
This recipe actually originally came from Just Ingredients. Let's see, I believe it was in an email from them, maybe? (I like their products, by the way. And no, we're not affiliated with them in any way.) I have home-canned hot pepper jelly in my pantry, so I knew I wanted to try this one. And it did not disappoint!
Supplies You'll Need (and what we used)
- Mixing bowl - ok, technically not a mixing bowl but I love using this glass measuring cup for small batches like this one!
- Electric hand mixer - the Kitchenaid hand mixer works great for mixing up cheese ball.
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Grater - to shred the cheese

Ingredients for Hot Pepper Jelly Cheese Ball
- Cream cheese - preferably a good quality, full fat cream cheese. I used the BetterGoods brand!
- Hot pepper jelly - you should be able to find hot pepper jelly at most stores. I actually canned this stuff myself last year, and this is a great way to eat it 🙂
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Cheddar cheese - mild, sharp or extra sharp shredded cheddar cheese. (And of course, it's best to shred it yourself instead of buying pre-shredded)
Add a garnish if you wish! I used chopped fresh parsley today. Other ideas are chopped nuts, chopped chives, or shredded cheese.

How to make a Hot Pepper Jelly Cheese Ball
Let the cream cheese set out and come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before starting, so it whips nice and smooth.
Put the softened cream cheese in a mixing bowl and use an electric handheld mixer to whip it smooth.
Add the hot pepper jelly, seasonings, and cheese and mix until thoroughly combined.
Shape into a ball and chill the cheese ball in the refrigerator for an hour.

Option: add a garnish! Fresh or dried parsley flakes, chopped chives, chopped pecans, etc.

Serve with your choice of crackers or veggies. Enjoy!

How to Store Cheese Ball
Store the cheese ball in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
Tips, Tricks and Notes
You can also roll the cheese ball in the garnish (chopped nuts and chives, shredded cheese, parsley, whatever you wish) to coat it completely! Sprinkle your garnish of choice on a piece of parchment paper and plop the cheese ball on top. Then carefully press the garnish onto the cheese ball to coat it.
